Ipocamp Trace extension: your data

Ipocamp Trace keeps a record of your ChatGPT and Claude conversations. The texts stay on your computer.

Who is responsible

The extension is published by ORIGYX, the company that operates Ipocamp. Its contact details are in the legal notice. For any question about your data, write to dpo@ipocamp.fr.

What the extension does

The extension reads the conversation you open on chatgpt.com or claude.ai. It reads the title, the text of the messages and the author of each message (you or the AI). It reads no other site.

It passes these texts to the Ipocamp agent installed on your computer. This transfer stays on the computer. The extension sends nothing to a server.

What stays on your computer

The agent stores the conversations in a private folder of your account on the computer, with the time each message was seen. Recording starts when the trace is ticked in the agent and allowed by the administrator of your Ipocamp account. Otherwise nothing is recorded.

These files stay in place until you delete them. Uninstalling the extension stops the reading and leaves these files on the computer.

What goes to Ipocamp

When this trace is active, the agent deposits at most once a day: the fingerprint of a summary of the conversations, the name of the AI service, the number of conversations and exchanges, and the period covered. A fingerprint is a calculated summary that cannot be turned back into the text.

The texts and titles of the conversations are not sent to Ipocamp.

The deposit follows the Ipocamp privacy policy, in particular for the legal basis (performance of the contract) and the retention period.

Your choices

You can pause the extension at any time from its icon. You can also uninstall it and delete the files from the computer.

Your rights over deposited data are described in the Ipocamp privacy policy.

On a company computer

A company that uses this trace tells the people concerned in advance: what is recorded, why, and how to pause it.
