How your file is protected
The fingerprint, computed at deposit
When you deposit, Ipocamp computes your file's SHA-256 fingerprint: a 32-byte string that represents its exact state without exposing its content. Change a single pixel or character, and the fingerprint changes entirely.
A date anyone can verify
The fingerprint is timestamped and recorded in an unalterable public registry, whose network sets the date independently of Ipocamp. The resulting certificate links the fingerprint, the date and the chosen author. Anyone can verify it, without an account, using the original file.
What a subscription adds
Your first 5 deposits are free. A subscription brings a higher deposit volume, storage of your files in your space, folder organization and, depending on the plan, deposits in your company's name, several authors, API access and several users.
Retention and confidentiality
The certificate stays verifiable for life, free of charge, even after your subscription ends. The file kept in your space is encrypted, and deleted three years after cancellation: always keep your own copy.
