1 min readAn Ipocamp certificate can be verified by anyone, using the certificate and the original file, with standard, open tools.
Verification is public and requires no account. In addition to the certificate and the original file, it relies on the public registry.
In practice, verification consists of recomputing the fingerprint of the supplied file (a unique string of characters derived from its content) and comparing it to the one recorded in the registry at the date shown on the certificate.
