The legal diagnostic offered by Ipocamp

The legal diagnostic gives you a quick status check before you take a bigger step, such as sending a formal notice (a demand letter with a deadline) or starting proceedings. It is also the preliminary step before individual support.

When to use it

You find out that one of your creations has been reused without your consent. You receive a formal notice accusing you of infringement. You are unsure who owns a creation made jointly or for a client. You want to know whether an amicable negotiation is likely to succeed.

What you provide

The diagnostic relies on the information you send: the nature of the creation, Ipocamp certificates already obtained, other dated evidence, a description of the situation and, where relevant, a copy of the formal notice or of the disputed creation. The more complete the file, the more useful the status check.

What you get

A reading of your situation and of the options available: amicable negotiation, formal notice, legal action, or no action.

The steps, in order

First, legal information and conciliation: Covéa Protection Juridique's in-house lawyers answer you by phone, Monday to Saturday, and conduct a conciliation phase before any lawyer steps in. This step is included in your subscription.

Then, if the dispute continues, a diagnostic of your situation, followed by individual support: Ipocamp refers you to a lawyer specializing in intellectual property and follows your case with you. Lawyer's fees are covered by the insurance up to your plan's cap.
