Every format, from single file to archive
Visual, source code, mockup, music, manuscript, technical drawing, lab notebook, a .zip archive for a whole set. The service computes the fingerprint the same way, whatever the format. Deposits without an account accept files up to 2 GB. A subscription removes this limit.
Your file's fingerprint
The SHA-256 fingerprint (a unique code derived from the file) is computed at the time of deposit. This sequence of 32 bytes represents the exact state of the file without revealing its content. Change a single pixel and it changes entirely. Your creation is then transferred to our storage with encryption. For a free deposit, this transfer is automatic, so you can retrieve it if you open an account. Subscribers who want to better organize their deposits can request this transfer.

In practice
What you can secure
Anything that fits in a file can be dated. Three broad families of creations come up most often.
Artistic and graphic creations
Illustrations, photos, logos, mock-ups, texts, music, videos: date each version before showing it to a client, publishing it or submitting it to a competition. You keep a record of what you created, and when.
Innovation and R&D
Lab notebooks, test results, technical drawings, processes, source code: dating your work as you go documents prior existence without publishing anything. The stored file is encrypted and its content stays confidential.
Strategic documents
A deck before an investor meeting, a file handed to a partner, know-how covered by trade secrets (confidential information protected by law): date what you share, and you will be able to prove what was shared, and when.

From deposit to certificate, in three steps
Deposits are made in the browser, with no installation and, to get started, no account.
1. Deposit your file
Drop your file, or an archive for a set of files, into the deposit area. The fingerprint is computed at the time of deposit.
2. Receive your certificate
The certificate links the fingerprint, the date and the author you chose. It is sent to you by email and stays verifiable for life, with no recurring fees.
3. Verify at any time
Anyone can check that a file matches the certificate, using standard, open tools. Verification is public and requires no account.
